I may be able to make a cake and do ok with fondant, but I am tip challenged. I don't know what all those different tips do, I couldn't make a "rose" if you made me, and I was only ok with writing if I used a really big tip :) My husband encouraged me to take a class at a local spot, and I had such a great time. It really isn't my "style" of cake, but it just shows all the things that we were taught in the class, rolled into one cake.

Baby Kristen-I NEED TO MAKE A CAKE
After Evan and Jessica's wedding I had a bit of a lul in my cake making. I did get to make some REALLY fun pumpkin cookies for someone I knew in high school, but I forgot to take pics :) My friend Bridget had a baby two months before I had my oldest daughter. We worked together so we would compare bellies and how big we were getting and all the other prego things :) Out kiddos are now 5 and almost 5, and she just had her second, a BEAUTIFUL little girl named Kristen. I needed an excuse to make a cake because well, it had been FOREVER! I learned a new technique in my cake class that makes regular icing look like fondant, a really neat technique, so I wanted to use that. I was going for a more lavender color, but after a little mishap with my coloring we went with a darker purple :)
WEDDING DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ITS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So.......... I baked and I baked and I baked and then I baked some more :) I had my oven on from 6am to about 3pm. I made batch after batch of cupcakes. I make classic white, devils food, and red velvet. I had vats of icing to use and went to town........I should mention that I did over estimate how much icing I would need, and I did have quite a bit left over :) I had the help of my very best friend otherwise I am sure I probably would have lost my mind. All that to say it was fun and I LOVED that I got to do this for my brother and his new bride!!!!! I think they turned out really nice. Everyone ranted and raved about how good they tasted, so that pretty much made my day :) Thanks Evan and Jessica for this WONDERFUL opportunity.
