Good bye Illinois.....Hello Colorado
A friend from small group was moving to Colorado, and a "colorado rockies, mountous" themed cake was requested :) This was for sure a challence, but I had a blast making it :)
Happy Birthday Faith~
This cake was a BIG deal for me to make. My friend that asked me to make it (for her daughter that was turning 10) was the one that made fondant cakes to begin with! She had made them in the past and they looked so neat, that I wanted to try it. PLUS she makes an AMAZING chocolate cake......the BEST chocolate cake that I have EVER eaten in my entire life. The cake is so good that I actually asked her to make one for me a few years ago for my birthday! Sooooooo when she asked me to make this cake I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nervous! It really think it turned out cute, and they seemed to like it too. I made fudge marble cake with chocolate butter cream frosting(my first attempt).
Happy Birthday, and Happy Birthday
I feel like I am suffering from de jau vue......I am making a grill cake and coach purse cake....again. Not that I am complaining :) The grills is a white cake with vanilla butter creme, and the purse cake is devils food with vanilla butter creme.
Happy Anniversary Happy Anniversary Happy Anniversary HAAAAAAAPY Anniversary!

Welcom Baby!
I think this by far was the most frustrating cake I made, and I am really not sure why :) It just seemed to take FOREVER. I just couldn't get the head the way I wanted, and for some reason my cake kept ending up in my icing when I was frosting it. None the less it was fun to make a baby shower cake, and at this point it is just about learning and getting better.
So long, farewell.....
Making a cake for someone you have never met is sometimes hard. Not knowing their favorite color, or now knowing what color they REALLY dislike can make it a bit difficult. I went out on a limb and decided to make a "suitcase" cake when asked to make a farewell cake for a co-worker of a friend. I personally think it ended up looking more like a briefcase, but hey live and learn.
